Equipment  For Use At The JPL
The following equipment is only available for use in the library:
  COMPUTERS

The library has 13 + 3 laptop computers for patron use. The computers are loaded with various word processing software and educational games. Each has Internet connection. Documents are printed on a black and white laser printer.
EXTERNAL DVD & CD BURNER

The External DVD and CD burner can be used to save home movies and photos from a digital camera to the disks which can be played on your TV or computer at home.
HANDHELD LIGHTED LOW VISION READER

Patrons can use the portable low vision reader to aid them in reading print on materials during their visit at the library.
LOW VISION READER

Patrons with low vision can use the reader to enlarge text and photos on documents, such as, letters, bills, books, newspapers, and magazines.
MICROFILM READER/PRINTER

The library’s two Microfilm Reader Printers are available in the Heritage Room. The library owns a nearly complete collection of Lafayette County Newspapers on microfilm starting in 1836 and census records starting in 1850 that can be read and printed on the machines for 15 cents a copy.
PHOTOCOPIER

Copies can be made on the black and white copy machine for 15 cents per copy.
COLOR PRINTERS

Digital cameras, the library’s or your own, can be connected to our computer so photos can be printed on the PhotoSmart Printer OR
the network printer in full color. The fee for color printing is 50 cents a sheet.
SCANNER

Photos, documents, etc. can be scanned and saved to our computers desktop for emailing, printing or saving to a CD or flash drive.
Equipment Checkouts Available at JPL
Library patrons must be 18 or older to check out the following pieces of equipment from the library:

-Digital camera
-Energy meter
-Movie screen
-Overhead projector

Terms of check-out:
Loan period is determined by how long the patron needs the item.
Overdue fee is $3.00 per day for all items except digital camera which is $10.00 per day.
Those desiring to check out the digital camera are required to take the Digital Camera Use Session.
